Insomnia Effects - Do Natural Supplements Like Kavinace Really Help?

The health hazards of insomnia are understated. Chronic insomnia overtime not only impacts a sufferers’ professional pursuits and productivity, but leads to other disorders associated with sleep deficiencies. Particularly, menopause coupled with an inability to sleep is a recipe for weight gain. Nonetheless, women who are enduring a biological change are not the only individuals predisposed to gain weight due to sleep deprivation. But, the real question becomes are insomnia supplements, such as Kavinace—really the solution to a good night’s rest?

Numerous studies demonstrate that sleep deprivation triggers weight gain, diabetes and even psychosis. Moreover, when the body is deprived of a restful night’s sleep, overtime it can be detrimental, causing other chronic diseases such as diabetes. Two separate clinical trials, Dr. Alexandros Vgontzas, MD researched the effects of insomnia.  In one study a correlation showed a heightened susceptibility to diabetes for sleeping less than 6-hours a night.

Sleep deprivation interrupts cellular growth and restoration. As menopause reflects a biological shift in ovulation, depletion in estrogen and loss of bone density, insomnia aggravates these changes. An in depth look, at menopause and insomnia, portends a vicious cycle of unrest: itchy skin, hot flashes followed by anxiety and an inability to sleep. Between the body’s' slowing metabolism, the physiological effects of sleep depravation, maintaining a healthy weight becomes increasingly difficult for women over 50.

An inability to sleep throughout the entire night increases with age. Moreover, rest is vital to cell rejuvenation and the body’s immune system. When the Nurses' Health Study evaluated the effects of sleeping less than six-hours an evening, weight gain was a common denominator. The study charted nurses’ health and professional life for 12 years. In the second test, Dr. Vgontzas found that men, who slept fewer hours, were at a higher risk of mortality.

While many physicians recommend, natural supplements such as melatonin and valerian for alleviating insomnia, negative reports indicate otherwise. Both have been found to trigger arrhythmic events or rapid heartbeats, countering a good night’s rest.

Certain melatonin is derived form animal, increasing the chances of contamination.  Valerian and melatonin are laden in additives, which cause allergic reactions. Unlike other insomnia supplements laden in wheat, soy, sodium, sucrose, yeast and artificial colors or other allergens, Kavinace another natural supplement is free of additives and glutens.

More importantly, clinical trials show that Kavinace does not trigger the arrhythmic palpitations as seen with valerian and melatonin, enhancing a good night’s sleep.
